Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I am a candidate for the position of IEEE Division Delegate-Elect/Director-Elect (2021) and Division Delegate/Director (2022-2023) of Division I (CASS, EDS, SSCS) in the 2020 IEEE annual election.
On this web site you will find my brief biographical information and position statement along with the information highlighting my volunteering track records in the IEEE technical activities and governance of Division I society, EDS as the President, Junior past President, Senior past President, and Vice President of Publications.
I welcome your questions, comments, and concerns on my positions as well as suggestions of issues you feel should be addressed by the IEEE and IEEE Board of Directors.
As Division I Delegate/Director, I will execute my commitment to the IEEE and Division I Societies/Councils and will be guided by utmost respect for fellow volunteers and staff to represent the interest of Division I membership worldwide.

biography
My Background
Samar Saha received PhD in Solid-State Physics from Gauhati University and MS in Engineering Management from Stanford University. Currently, he is the Chief Scientist at Prospicient Devices and an Adjunct Professor in the Electrical Engineering (EE) department, Santa Clara University, California.
Since 1984, he worked in various technical and management positions at National Semiconductor, LSI Logic, Texas Instruments, Philips Semiconductors, Silicon Storage Technology, Synopsys, DSM Solutions, Silterra USA, and SuVolta. In academia, he was an EE faculty member at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale; Auburn University; the University of Nevada, Las Vegas; and the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
His research interests include nanoscale device and process architecture, Technology computer-aided design (TCAD), compact modeling, devices for renewable energy, and TCAD and R & D management.
He authored over 100 research papers; two books, entitled, FinFET Devices for VLSI Circuits and Systems, Taylor & Francis (2020) and Compact Models for Integrated Circuit Design: Conventional Transistors and Beyond, Taylor & Francis (2015); one book chapter on Technology Computer Aided Design; and holds 12 US patents. He is an IEEE Fellow and an IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) Fellow.
